Possessions as an Addiction
Ever heard of being possessed by your pssessions? "Collecting" can be more than just an obsession whether it is Cabbage Patch dolls, Precious Moments figurines, baseball cards, comic books, or even cats. When collecting reaches a point where all other life priorities are left behind, it becomes an addiction.
Some people are addicted to mind games such as control, power, and ego. It seems that they just cannot help themselves when it comes to controlling others. They crave power, and the chemicals that their own body produces gives them feelings that are almost a chemical high. These people can be especially destructive to others. An extreme would be a psychopath who could inflict very serious harm to others because of his/her need to control and exercise power over his/her victims. Is it a chemical imbalance that leads to this mental illness or an addiction to the pleasure chemicals that their own bodies produce?
