Hialeah

The new home of Crossfire National Veterans Assistance Corporation is located at 13090 NW 107th Ave. Hialeah Gardens, Fl. 33018.

The First Baptist Church of Hialeah Gardens (formerly known as Graham Baptist Church), is located between the Palmetto Expressway (826) and the Florida Turnpike on an access road (Frontage Road) that runs parallel to Okeechobee Road. More precisely, it is exactly one mile east of the Florida Turnpike and exactly 4 miles west of the Palmetto. Years ago, this corner property of about four acres was donated by the Graham family (father of Senator Graham), who still owns much of Miami Lakes and west Dade County. The stipulation placed on the deed to the property at the time it was donated, was that a church was to be placed on the property and that the property always be used for religious purposes. The current congregation is very small with limited finances; however, the Crossfire advertising, promotion and programs have become a welcome asset that has been attracting individuals and families to the church. There is a lot of new residential and business construction in the immediate area, with plans for a major developer to construct a large shopping center close to the church property on Okeechobee Road.

Currently, there is a 66 by 14 ft = 924 sq. ft. trailer serviing as a small sanctuary and general meeting area. It is equipped with a modern sound board and digital projection equipment as well as numerous musical instruments. There is also a concrete block structure on the property that serves as general office space for the Church, its' Hispanic ministry, and Florida Atlantic University.

Still in the planning stages is a veterans horticultural center and work therapy program. We would encourage Boy Scouts, Christian Motorcycle Clubs, Veterans Organizations and other similar groups to use our four acreas for their special gatherings and functions.

The church has surveyed the property and is in the process of making plans to build modern facilities in order to utilize the property more effectively.

The third structure on the northern part of the property is an additional trailer which is currently being modified to accommodate a computer training lab starting with six workstations but plans to double that within the next 12 months. Veterans and their families will be able to use this computer lab for Internet job searches, writing resumes, etc.
