About Tom McKnight
Tom McKnight is a financier in Washington, D.C., who specializes in new enterprises, real estate mortages, and the legal infrastructure of finance, including credit. He is the author of a book about the earliest moments of a new venture's existence called "Will It Fly" (Prentice Hall, 2004), a book that was listed by Crains Business Publications as one of 10 essential reads by entrepreneurs, a list that includes such noted authors as Drucker, Sun Tsu, Machiavelli and Covey.
Mr. McKnight is also the president of the Career Military Mortage Trust, LLC, a firm in Washington, D.C., that originates residential mortages, trains disabled veterans in mortage banking, lobbies Congress to ease restrictions on mortages to the military, and educates the military on the finer points of credit protection and investing in real estate. Including his creation of Orion Satellite Corp., he has been directly involved in the launch of over 200 enterprises.
He holds a B.S. in business from Miami University (1970) and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University (1972). He is a member in good standing of the bars of Maryland, New York, Ohio, Virginia and the U.S. Supreme Court. From August 19, 1963 to September 19, 1966, he was a U.S. Marine.
